Industry Club, showcases the diverse Ibero-American and Spanish audiovisual ecosystem at the Festival de Málaga
Mayor Francisco de la Torre presided over the visit to the business and networking space at MAFIZ, which this year brings together 46 organisations
10/03/2026.- Industry Club, the business space at MAFIZ, was visited today by the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre; the City Councillor for Culture and Historical Heritage, Mariana Pineda; the Deputy Director General for Development at the ICAA, Fernando Bigeriego; and the Director of the Festival de Málaga, Juan Antonio Vigar.
The authorities had the opportunity to tour the networking, business, and promotion space that MAFIZ, the industry area of the Festival de Málaga, organised by the Málaga City Council through Málaga Procultura, offers to national and international film institutes, sales companies, and other entities in the audiovisual sector.
This year, the Industry Club brings together 46 exhibitors, including those from the ICAA , the Andalusian Agency for Cultural Institutions, Málaga Film Office, and Canal Sur, as well as organisations such as the Audiovisual Producers' Rights Management Entity (EGEDA), the Ibermedia programme, and SGAE.
The authorities also had the opportunity to exchange views with the delegation from Panama, the guest country at Latinamerican Focus, which included 40 professionals and a comprehensive programme of activities.
The international dimension of this event is consolidated in the Ibero-American region, with Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay. This year, it expands to the European with the stands of Italy and Portugal.
They also learned about the activities of the film institutes and Film Commissions of the autonomous communities: Asturias, the Canary Islands, Castile and León, Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, and the Region of Murcia; as well as the Trends area, the new section of Spanish Screenings Content, dedicated to animation, television series, and music.
The authorities expressed interest too in the new releases that Spanish sales agents will be presenting at Spanish Screenings Content: Begin Again, Bendita Films, Con Un Pack, Ezinema Studios, Film Factory, Filmax, Latido Films, Mansalva Films and Sideral.
The visit concluded at the Andalucía International Audiovisual Networking workspace, a new Festival initiative created to promote the Andalusian audiovisual sector's business sector. The selected companies were concluding their first day of work there.
The Industry Club will be open from 9 to 13 March at the NH Hotel, the main venue of MAFIZ.
