-ENTRE GUIONES- aims to promote unpublished fiction scripts to link their screenwriters with producers and production companies, as well as with industry talent agents accredited at Ventana Sur.
This section is open to unpublished fiction feature film scripts that are still in the preliminary stages of writing (both original works and adaptations).
Priority will be given to scripts that have been awarded in one of the national public calls for script/writing development lines for 2024/2025.
During the 4 days of Ventana Sur, the Andalusian audiovisual industry will have a prominent presence in one of the most strategic global markets with international buyers, sales agents, decision makers, investors, festival programmers, production companies and industry professionals.
A unique opportunity to promote the internationalisation of the Andalusian audiovisual industry and to support the beginning of the film value chain: screenwriters and their scripts.
We invite screenwriters from Andalusia to register their scripts to participate in VENTANA SUR as part of
-ENTRE GUIONES- MAFIZ 2025 developed by Ventana Sur in collaboration with Festival de Málaga and the Andalusian Agency for Cultural Institutions.
CALL REQUIREMENTS
Script participation and eligibility terms and conditions are detailed below:
The organising committee of -ENTRE GUIONES- MAFIZ will select a maximum of 5 fiction feature film scripts.
Scripts must be unpublished, written in Spanish and be in the process of seeking financing, co-producers, sales agents and/or distributors.
Scripts can only be submitted by natural persons (a certificate of census registration of least one year prior to the date of the call must be submitted).
Two co-writers of the same work may participate.
Rights to the work must be accredited.
Scripts in the process of production will not be accepted.
Scripts that are open to international co-production, especially with Latin America, will be considered for selection.
Priority will be given to scripts with potential interest for the international market and which meet VENTANA SUR's eligibility criteria.
Priority will be given to scripts that have been awarded in one of the national public calls for script/writing development lines for 2024/2025.
Special consideration will be given to scripts that have not participated in other international markets.
Only scripts for which the complete documentation (entry form and required documentation) has been submitted before the deadline will be considered.
Only scripts that guarantee the market presence of the main screenwriter will be considered.
The organising committee of -ENTRE GUIONES- MAFIZ 2025 seeks to give the appropriate visibility and opportunities to all audiovisual works. The selection criteria will prioritise works of great artistic value, as well as their potential for international circulation, their suitability for the Ventana Sur market, especially the most diverse and suitable for international sale, with the aim of representing the most independent and plural visions possible.
A maximum of two scripts per author(s) will be accepted.
The call is not open for short film, documentary, TV series, animation or web series scripts.
Scripts submitted by production companies or with an associated producer will not be accepted.
The selection committee?s decision is final.
Script registration does not imply their admission.

Fiction feature film script, minimum 70 pages, maximum 125 pages. (Outlines are not accepted. Sequenced and dialogued scripts only).
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Script registration is free of charge.
Information regarding the script titles and authorship may appear on the website and social networks of FESTIVAL DE MÁLAGA, Andalusian Agency for Cultural Institutions and VENTANA SUR.
Information and images provided may be used in promotional materials by VENTANA SUR, Andalusian Agency for Cultural Institutions and FESTIVAL DE MÁLAGA.
By accepting these terms and conditions, you authorise VENTANA SUR, Andalusian Agency for Cultural Institutions and FESTIVAL DE MÁLAGA to reproduce and publish free of charge the graphic and audiovisual materials provided in the registration on their social networks and communication channels.
Registration to submit a project or film implies acceptance of these rules and the commitment to guarantee the presence of a representative at the event should the project be selected.
Any circumstance not foreseen in these terms and conditions will be resolved by the Organising Committee of -ENTRE GUIONES- MAFIZ 2025.
Personal data provided will be processed in accordance with the provisions of current legislation on data protection, and solely for the purposes of managing this call.

SELECTION
A committee made up of representatives from Festival de Málaga/MAFIZ and Ventana Sur will be in charge of selecting the scripts.
In order to give the greatest visibility and opportunities to all audiovisual works, the selection criteria will prioritise scripts of great artistic value, their potential for international circulation, their suitability for VENTANA SUR, especially the most diverse productions, as well as those most suitable for co-production or international sales, with the aim of representing the most independent and plural visions possible.
The organisation will contact selected screenwriters by 30 October 2025.
BENEFITS
Each screenwriter will receive a free professional accreditation to attend VENTANA SUR 2025.
The Organising Committee will cover travel and accommodation expenses for the duration of the event: 1 flight ticket for the representative (1 person per project) and 5 nights' accommodation in a single room, breakfast included.
Selected screenwriters will be provided with tutorials and one-to-one meetings.
The representatives of each script will have the opportunity to pitch their project in English, if requested by the Ventana Sur organisers, to international industry professionals attending the event.
