Malaga Short Corner, an initiative within MAFIZ / Spanish Screenings Content aimed at promoting and projecting Spanish short films nationally and internationally. In 2025 it celebrates its third edition.
The event brings together industry professionals, including filmmakers, production companies, distribution companies, buyers and renowned festival organisers.
Its purpose is to give visibility to both young talents and film students, as well as established filmmakers through a selection of short films that stand out for their quality and diversity, all of them produced in the last quarter of the previous year.
During the event, theme sessions screenings will be attended by representatives of national and international festivals, among other professionals.
In addition to the screenings, the event offers various industry activities, with talks and round tables of interest to the sector, and several presentations at the Industry Club's Malaga Short Corner Pop-up Show.
Malaga Short Corner 2025 will take place between the 18th and 20th of March, with most of its contents (screenings and industry activities) taking place in Sala Cajamar, Malaga. The Malaga Short Corner Pop-up Show of the Industry Club will take place at the Malaga Short Corner stand, within the MAFIZ Industry Club.
In the 2024 edition, a total of 65 works were selected out of more than 400 entries received, including several Andalusian productions, which provided a varied and current vision of short films in Spanish. In addition to the screenings, the event offered 8 industry activities and 10 presentations at the Málaga Short Corner Pop-up Show.
