La Villa del Mar brings the curtain down on its second edition, consolidating its position as the technological and audiovisual epicentre. After seven intense days of talks and workshops on innovation, the event culminated today with a roadmap for the Festival de Málaga of 2030 and a focus on the challenges and opportunities that will define the future of the industry.

Matías Bossié, founder of Mad West Animation Co., a creative animation and premium audiovisual content studio, began the day by inviting us to reflect on the journey that transforms an idea into something with real potential. The executive producer of the Emmy-nominated series Efectos secundarios (Side Effects) noted that "the real challenge of great ideas is how to sustain them over time. There is a need for a design pathway that outlines the steps to be taken in each project”.

Vertical storytelling was the focus of the talk by Loli Miraglia, CEO of SDO Entertainment, who analysed it as an essential way to reach audiences on different platforms, exploring the new mechanisms of content circulation and audience building in a growing market. "It is a different, innovative industry, with creators who have a lot of enthusiasm and strength to tell stories, and with a very active community", the expert assured.

The last day concluded with a look at the future of the industry from several of the speakers who have visited La Villa del Mar this week, including Adrián Garelik, Manu Martí, Matías Bossié, Miraglia and Ralph Hayek, coordinator of this initiative. The analysis round table dissected the risks, opportunities and decisions that will define the next cycle of the sector and of the Festival de Málaga itself. "Cinema must dare to screen optimistic futures, fighting against the dark ages that seem to be coming". It was a direct invitation to industry not only to survive tomorrow, but to design it.

The whole week felt like a chronicle of a dream yet to come; but, at the end of the day, it all makes sense only if cinema serves to inspire dreams.
