
Cryptocurrencies and video games close the first edition of La Villa del Mar

This last day at La Villa del Mar, the Festival de Málaga space where technology and culture converge, brought together experts and industry leaders to explore the impact of cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence and extended reality on the production and consumption of content.
As part of Convergence of content and technology, Adrián Garelik from the streaming platform Flixxo, presented an interesting workshop on "Cryptocurrency and its uses in the audiovisual industry", analysing the current uses of these digital assets in the sector.
Meanwhile, from EVAD, Sergio Navarro, professor and video game developer, led the workshop "A non-linear story in which the user chooses the ending", in which he explored new narratives in video games as well as the keys to drawing and 2D animation.
Also, within the framework of Storytelling of the future , Ernesto Martelli addressed the workshop on future design "Audiovisual industry and technology", analysing trends in the audiovisual sector and the application of technology in the construction of interactive stories, as well as new ways of financing and investment such as cryptocurrencies. "There are always alternatives to find funding to get projects off the ground".
As part of Gaming and immersive experiences, Marcelo Liberini addressed the relationship between sports and video games in the talk "Barça Games, sport and video games". Here attendees were able to delve into the new field of digital gaming, sport and video games, a rapidly developing field with a wide audience base.
The programme of La Villa del Mar closed with the round table "Slaves or masters of the algorithm?", part of Social and ethical impact of technology, an interesting debate on the influence of algorithms on content creators and the audiovisual industry and the challenges and opportunities that are opening up in the face of these new technologies.
Lastly, in the experiential area, attendees got to experience the final demonstration of extended reality content, viewed in VR, with a selection of 360 stereoscopic pieces and a meetup between the public and participants.
