MAFIZ, the industry zone of the Festival de Málaga, hosts this initiative that aims to position the Andalusian audiovisual industry in international markets and consolidate the Andalusia·Culture brand
Twelve Andalusian production companies will take part in the first Forum for the Internationalisation of Andalusian Audiovisual (FIAA) to be held from 18 to 21 March as part of MAFIZ, the industry zone of the Festival de Málaga.
FIAA, which is part of the Programme for the Internationalisation of Andalusian Culture, aims to position Andalusian audiovisual sector professionals and companies in international markets and to establish direct connections between Andalusian audiovisual players and the main international benchmarks in the fields of distribution, programming, co-production and exhibition, thus contributing to the consolidation of the "Andalusia·Culture" brand.
The programme will consist of two presentations to MAFIZ accredited industry representatives: one on the selected companies' track record, the services they offer and the co-productions they have been involved in to international producers; and the other on their recent and upcoming films to festival programmers and sales companies. After both events they will have the chance to arrange B2B appointments.
The twelve production companies have been selected by a technical committee arranged by MAFIZ / Festival de Málaga and the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions (AAIICC) and, in addition to being based in Andalusia, they must have produced at least two feature films with a minimum running time of 90 minutes released in commercial cinemas between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2024.
