Lend Me Your Eyes

Director Natalia Grande
Producer Andrea Mateu
Countries Spain - Peru
Synopsis

As long as I can remember, the camera has been both a wound and a bridge. A borrowed eye. My father went blind young, yet his gaze survived through photography. I grew up inside his archive: images of women, bodies, geographies where I did not belong. He asked me to lend him my eyes; I learned to see through his. As his blindness advanced, my body changed. Desire, disobedience, difference entered the frame. The camera passed into my hands, becoming a site of friction between his gaze and mine. Separated by borders, we remain connected through images and voice. He wants to keep seeing through me; I need to step out of his frame.
