Spanish Screenings – Málaga de Cine, an event conceived as an international promotion platform geared at stimulating sales of Spanish film, will be held from the 20th to the 23rd of October, within the Malaga Film Festival’s industry area MAFIZ (Málaga Festival Industry Zone) for a fifth year in a row. Spanish Screenings, which is holding its 15th edition in 2021, is the only official market for the sale and promotion of Spanish films. It benefits from the collaboration of ICAA (Institute of Cinematography and Visual Arts) and ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade), and the support of sales agents and producer associations in Spain.
Following a successful online edition in 2020, which had to be postponed until the month of November and adapted to an online format due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions on international travel, this year Spanish Screenings – Málaga de Cine is returning to its in-person format, once again with the ample support of the audio-visual sector.
Participants at last year’s edition of Spanish Screenings – Málaga de Cine included nearly 200 international distributors, 30 delegates of international film festivals from 45 countries; 13 sales agents, 120 producers, and 108 films distributed in the different sections of the event of replica designer handbags; as well as nearly 350 delegates from more than 200 companies. The companies that participated in the different sections had more than 800 screenings, the majority from the United States, Greece, Germany, France, Brazil, Italy, Taiwan, China, and Japan.
