Festival de Málaga announces the celebration of the Spanish Screenings 2020 online -November 17-20
This major event whose strategic objective is fostering the Spanish film industry will take place for the fourth year running, as part of MAFIZ, the film festival industry area.
After being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Festival de Málaga will organize from November 17 to 20, 2020 the XIV edition of the online Spanish Screenings, Madrid de Cine. This event, designed as the international promotion platform aimed to foster international sales of Spanish films will take place for fourth year running as part of the MAFIZ activities (Malaga Festival Industry Zone).
Spanish Screenings - Málaga de Cine is the only event designed to boost and foster the Spanish film industry abroad; a one of a kind event in Spain organized by Festival de Málaga and the Málaga City Council in collaboration with ICAA (The Spanish Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts) and ICEX (Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade).
The film festival industry area has been reshaped to face the new circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic and continues celebrating its major events via online. After the huge success of the Malaga Work in Progress online (Malaga WIP) and MAFF online (Malaga Festival Fund & Coproduction Event); next November will be the turn for the Spanish Screenings online.
Registrations will open soon to attend the Spanish Screenings - Malaga de Cine online, a key meeting point for the international film industry.
As explained by Juan Antonio Vigar, the film festival director, the main objective is to keep alive the film festival industry area as the key meeting point for the Spanish film industry by offering an event adjusted to the current circumstances, where the face-to-face events have been replaced by the online events that allow the best online workspaces and tools aimed to continue working towards our main objectives: promotion, dissemination and international sales of Spanish films.
