
The Region of Murcia will present the possibilities it offers for filming and audiovisual investment and showcase its recent productions at the Festival de Málaga
The autonomous region is the protagonist of the MAFIZ Territories section and its president will receive the Silver Biznaga from the Mayor of Malaga
The Region of Murcia will be the guest region at the fourth edition of MAFIZ Territories, the industry zone of the Festival de Málaga, where it will showcase the possibilities and facilities it offers for filming and investment in the audiovisual sector. Professionals and representatives from audiovisual sector organisations based in the autonomous region will also take part in a programme of networking activities.
The delegation will be headed by Region of Murcia President Fernando López Miras, who will receive the Silver Biznaga from the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, on 18 March.
The following day, the Regional Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Carmen Conesa, will chair the talk "How to shoot in the Region of Murcia" to inform accredited industry representatives about the diversity of locations and lines of aid for production in the autonomous region, as well as the advantages for investments in the audiovisual sector.
Murcian cinema will be represented in Malaga with Sorda, by Eva Libertad, participating in the Feature Films Official Competition after winning the Audience Award in the Panorama section of the Berlin Festival.
The region's audiovisual industry will also feature in the different sections of MAFIZ: Guerreras por la Amazonía / Women Warriors for the Amazon by Ángel Hernández Hernández will be presented at Mercadoc.0; Tres días de verano by Álvaro López Alba and El dolor de los demás by Joaquín Carmona at MAFF; and La Canción de Alba by producer Cristina Ruiz González at Warmi Lab.
Sadrak Zmork's El pintor y el escorpión and Spanish-French co-production Lionel, by Carlos Sais, will also be taking part in Málaga WIP; Málaga Short Corner will dedicate a session to short films from Murcia on Thursday 20th and the documentaries El juramento and ¿Dónde está mi acequia? will be screened in MAFIZ Specials, as well as fictions Mr. Nobody and Últimas voluntades.
Additionally, Málaga Talent will feature Pepe Siscar, who will participate in an extensive training programme with the rest of the young filmmakers selected for this edition.
Finally, as part of Women's Day, "Women in the audiovisual sector in Murcia" will be presented on 19 March.
The Region of Murcia and the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region de Murcia are both collaborating in Territories.
