David Trueba is a writer, director, and journalist born in Madrid in 1969. The brother of filmmaker Fernando Trueba, he studied at the Complutense University and the American Film Institute. He began his career as a screenwriter before making his directorial debut with The Good Life. A celebrated novelist, he achieved critical acclaim with Soldiers of Salamis and swept the Goya Awards with Living Is Easy with Eyes Closed.
