Synopsis
Zapata 666 is a Venezuelan in Colombia who struggles daily to sustain his wife and three children. In pain he recalls his acting career in Venezuela, but all he has left are the worn-out posters of his old films. Facing Maduro has cost him dearly and now he must live with the torment of being an enemy of the regime. In exile, Zapata 666 seeks to make a name for himself as an artist, while reliving his violent past in Venezuela and his career full of ups and downs.

Director´s Biofilmography
Venezuelan filmmaker in exile living in Mexico since 2018. Graduated in Social Communication from UCAB, Venezuela. His short film “Bolas Criollas”(2018), was selected in international festivals in Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America. His second project is a documentary series called "Never Never in Venezuela"(2019), which premiered at the One World 2020 Festival in Prague. The series had thousands of views on different web platforms and has been screened in many community spaces.

Objectives to be achieved
We just got back from an extensive development trip and we prepare for two more production trips. Participating in MAFF activities in June would be very nutritious to strengthen the project creatively and financially. As well as to achieve the alliances and co-productions that we are looking for.
Co-production´s interesting countries
We want to coproduce with the European Union, with special interest in Spain, Germany, Netherlands and France. This would give us the opportunity to apply for national co-production funds in these countries, as well as institutional funds that seek to support co-productions between Latin America and Europe. (IFFR-IDFA-WCF-IBERMEDIA). We also seek the participation of Latin America, especially of Colombia, where a partner could be very useful for filming and collecting national funds.
