Synopsis
In an evocative journey through family memory and archives, director Risseth Yangüez Singh delves into childhood memories to understand the denial of Black identity within her family. While her grandmother resists acknowledging her heritage, Risseth travels across Panama to meet those preserving Black history against systemic racism. Between Maroon struggles and Canal workers, the story intertwines with an intimate reflection on mental health and what it means to be a Black woman in a fragmented territory.
