BEATRIZ, a Brazilian artist, fulfills her greatest desire by becoming a mother, but motherhood drags her into dangerous territory. Her partner, MARCELO, a Spanish-speaking jeweler, exercises a subtle, calculated psychological violence that intensifies behind closed doors while his public image remains intact. Isolated by the indifference of those around her and caught between two languages, two cultures, and two forms of power, Beatriz begins to doubt her own perception. Only her relationship with her sick mother offers her a precarious refuge. Constructed as an intimate thriller, the film explores motherhood as a territory of dispute and the intimate emancipation of a woman who refuses to succumb.

The project seeks a strategic space for development at Warmi Lab for co-production between Brazil and a Spanish-speaking country, an organic dimension of Orfebre's script in which the culture clash intensifies the protagonist's dramatic conflict, deepening the experience and enhancing its social dimension. Participation in Warmi Lab directly contributes to expanding ORFEBRE's international impact financing, production, and distribution strategies, as well as fostering networking with producers, funds, and potential partners. We hope the lab will strengthen the project's position in the international market by aligning creative development, economic sustainability, and a commitment to gender equality.
