Death in Torrevieja

Director Adriana Arratia
Producer Araceli Isaac Delso

Synopsis
Chetia, Yeray’s mother by accident, would sell her own son just to star in Big Brother. She survives on the margins of Torrevieja by scamming tourists through balconing bets. The death of one of them by defenestration pushes her to take desperate, unlawful decisions. Defeated, she flees, abandoning Yeray in Torrevieja.

Objectives to be achieved
Our objectives at MAFIZ–MAFF are to consolidate the positioning of the feature film Death in Torrevieja, the debut of director Adriana Arratia, within the national and international film market and co-production circuit. Our primary goal is to find an international sales agent who can strategically support the project’s journey through festivals, markets, and its subsequent commercialization. Additionally, we are interested in exploring and finalizing pre-sale and/or rights purchase agreements with national and international television networks and platforms, aligned with European auteur cinema and genre content with a social identity.

Co-production´s interesting countries
Luxembourg and Germany. We already have international co-production agreements signed with FünferFilm and Deal Productions. These countries connect artistically with the project’s artistic and technical approach.
