Synopsis
When the grandfather decides to end his life “on his own terms,” his granddaughter and estranged son become trapped together during a stormy night that unearths the grief over Pablo, the perfect firstborn, and reveals how much the second son was erased in the process. In that house turned into a museum of memories, the three must choose between resentment, guilt, and the possibility of starting anew.

Matías Bize is one of the most internationally recognized Chilean filmmakers of his generation. His work is defined by an intimate approach to storytelling, focusing on emotional landscapes, silence and the complexities of human relationships. His films have premiered at major international festivals and have received awards including the Goya for Best Ibero-American Film, establishing him as a distinctive authorial voice with strong presence across Europe and Latin America.

Objectives to be achieved
We seek to complete the financing structure of the project, which is currently applying to the Chilean Audiovisual Fund for $353,000 USD. This public contribution will be complemented by private investment already under negotiation and international co-production partnerships. Our goal at MAFF is to secure a co-production agreement with Spain, particularly for the post-production phase and the international distribution strategy.
Málaga is an ideal market due to its focus on Ibero-American projects, and the international trajectory of Matías Bize in Class A festivals, along with his Goya Award, strengthens the potential for alliances with European producers, sales agents, and distributors.
Co-production´s interesting countries
Our priority co-production country is Spain, given Matías Bize’s established trajectory in the territory, where he has worked and premiered films with strong critical and commercial reception, in addition to his Goya Award. The relationship between Chile and Spain is supported by an active Co-Production Treaty, which facilitates circulation within Ibero-American territories and access to local funding opportunities. Spain is a natural partner for post-production and the international distribution strategy across the Ibero-American market. Additionally, we are interested in expanding the co-production to Germany, due to its long-standing collaboration with Chile and its strong European financing networks, as well as its affinity with intimate auteur cinema. We plan to engage with international sales agents such as The Match Factory.

Su experiencia en La Memoria Infinita consolidó su interés por narrativas íntimas y centradas en lo humano, con capacidad de generar impacto global.
